Introduction of the Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) Sensor
FBG Sensor is one of the uppermost inventions in the 90’s, 20th century. FBG is a passive optical devices, with good reliability, high measurement precision, resistance to electromagnetic interference and anti-lightning characteristics. Adopting 1510~1590nm (usually1,525~1565nm) wave band grating and grating apodization combination technique, the FBG sensor increases the sensor amount greatly connected to a single fiber. With an up to 35 km transmission distance allowable, the FBG Sensor is capable of a long-distance measurement. Having an anti-lightning characteristics, the FBG Sensor is particularly suitable for field use. And the FBG Sensor can be applied to the static tests as well as the high-speed dynamic.
